First, Ask any cop if they want to have to shoot anyone... answer is no, but they (and i) will if they have to. Second, They don’t carry weapons wanting to get in any use of force incident (taser, pepper spray, baton, or hands). Lol, now that’s “logical.” Cops are screened through psych testing. If “someone” is carrying a gun wanting to kill another, that’s a sociopath...

I was listening along to the gun segment in a tech podcast, I started to think how the debate on guns and tech security is oddly related. With guns, you have a large part of the population holding on to their right to own guns for their defense, which outside of the debate on accidents are perceived to be the highest level of security you can have. Hence, your debate on non/less lethal forms of defense. With technology, you have people who think “qwerty” or “insert dog name" & "birthday” are great passwords, and app developers leaving encryption keys in plain text in text files in the installation folder. It’s a weird world where we accept the danger of lethal security, while doing and accepting next to nothing regarding the security of our digital information (well, those of us here likely don’t).
