TLDR: Speak your mind. Support freedom of speech. You have a platform, use it for good. I have been a supporter and, at times, a "pusher" of your podcast to the "un-grumped". "Come on guys, listen to this, you'll love it." - The first taste is always free. I have shared private massages with Jason about video things and random podcast tech. You have made me laugh and cry at some of the topics discussed, but always brought the truth with a bit of insight and wisdom. And no, I'm not being sarcastic. It has been funny to hear your responses to listeners telling you to "stay in your lane" or "keep politics out of it". But the way you silenced yourself multiple times in this episode and continued silence over the last several months has an an effect - it made me write this. You have a platform with devoted listeners. People that hang on your every word and possibly some who take it as their tech "gospel". Thousands of people in this industry, including myself, have spent decades trying to get what you have and most of the time, give up or fail. If there was ever a time to speak what is on your mind, it's now. The (alt)right, fight with words, guns, shows of force and just straight up violence. But when the majority of us to the left of center fight back, it's with comforting words of hope and change. Not a lot else. And definitely no quarreling... Politics is never a great topic of discussion. Like religion, it's the other thing you don't talk about openly in public. But, why? Or, in this instance, why not? "We the people" have a voice in these fucked up times. Politics should be talked about, it should be discussed. It NEEDS to be discussed now, openly, more than ever. We need to get rid of the stigma attached to political discussion since we are all in this together. So, put your fuckin' man-pants on, this is our country, your country. Don't let your ratings, your Overcast stars and your fear get in the way of your beliefs. Otherwise, you're just as bad as the piece of shit Orange "Julius" Menace.
