Hi All,

I want to apologise the the V5 is not ready for full release yet. There has been some kinks which needed to iron out. But I feel we are getting closer to it being finished.

Today I have been working on the locking mechanism of the cage. During the feedback process, it's been very clear that the you all thought the locking mechanism generated too much of a bulge and was too noticeable. Therefore I have been redesigning it.

Below I have attached a picture of the prototype mechanism and as you can see it's much smaller and less bulky.  Now I need to confirm the functionality and strength of the attachment (And add the key hole) but I am curious by your opinion on it.

Hope you all are well :)

The KB3D cages are some of the first cages I've used so I don't have too much to compare to but after trying one with some jeans on the other day I'd say it was a bit too noticable without something like a long coat on so this is a welcome change! I was planning on wearing for an small trip away in early April so happy to test if ones ready to print by then!

Have you considered a mechanism that uses security seals rather than a metal lock? Possibly another option rather than removing the lock but it would make a more airport safe version with zero metal (although the new body scanner pick up a plastic cage as well). This would also create a lock that could be very thin.

So when I get home I will likely get this ring and cage on to print. So should know tomorrow. One thing I do not want to skimp on is the structure. It still needs to be strong, I have a feeling this one might not be strong enough. And I will end up settling for something halfway between the old one and this one

So I haven’t considered using other chastity keys/locking mechanisms. I wanted to use the most common one. I think in general the benefits of a security seal isn’t huge. Yes it reduces the metal lock, but they are also one time use. And I think considering the number of people locked, the airport use is minor, and as you say the new scanners can see the cage anyway. One other way I use the lock is it holds the ring and cage together, it stops the ring sliding. So helps keep it secure. But definitely going forward looking into other methods of locking the cage is high on the list.

Nice one, I'll stick to the longer coat and the existing cage for early April then!

Interesting idea. Excited to try it

I'm not a fan of the one time use plastic locks but the metal padlocks would be nice. I suspect it'd also make it easier to print the rings too. I've tried 3 times last week to print a new set of rings and they've failed every time on the locking mechanism. As for the padlocks a similar but smaller slide on the top of the cage that a fixed pin on the ring could slide into would probably work. Personally I like the click clack the locks make as they bounce against the cage. The magic locker locks are great and all but I'm finding there hasn't been much I could do sanding wise to make it smaller. Plus the locks I've got haven't been holding up to showers very well.

Thank you for the feedback. I would be curious to know why the print had failed. As the new rings are not significantly different from the old rings.

Hi KB, big fan! I've been anxiously awaiting an update on this process. I am currently wearing the V5 nano and after a few days of continuous wear, I notice there is an increasing amount of play in the up and down direction available at The joint of the cage and ring. I'm excited to see the new design and I'm hoping it mitigates this issue if possible. Thank you again for designing the most comfortable cage I've ever worn despite this small issue.

Thank you for the feedback. Would love an image of what the join. The current V5 actually had the same locking mechanism of version 4, which didn’t seem to have this issue. So would like to investigate more. Maybe via telegram?(@kinkybiologist)
