One thing to keep in mind as they prepare for this operation is the difference between this suicide mission and the last. On the surface, it may seem like more of the same, but if you look underneath, the Republic sent them on a suicide mission with no tactical importance with no support, limited supplies, and broken down mechs. The Federacy is sending them as an elite unit on a "must-win" mission of the highest stakes for the world, with state-of-the-art mechs, and the might of 3 entire nation's armies acting as Decoys for them. They may be seen as weapons, but at least the Federacy is giving them every chance to come back alive.

Also, not sure if you noticed the twitch chat, but they've been using a reverse engineered version of the Para-Raid since episode 14, only the Federacy version is "jawbone" headset, not an earpiece. Note that the color on this one is yellow as opposed to the Republic's green.
