The pearl episode is one of my absolute favorites for season 1, and it´s a little subtle but when she regenerated her outfit changed, u guys can see that if u compare her outfit now with the one in the intro. Oh and a little easter egg when she was coming back in that light silhouette her design on the pilot episode was there. And for Steven being the worst character, i kinda agree in season 1, but I give him a slack bc hes just a kid.

Even thou by this point in the series we still haven't reached the thick of the plot... These episodes demonstrate that the show already had dark elements and undertones pretty early on. From Onion being just straight up creepy and unnerving to the whole next episode having a lot more darker tone in general and Holo-Pearl being the conduit to a some tropes that are usually used in Horror movies. Also the animation in Steven the Swordsman it's just plain fantastic, that fight between Pearl and Holo-Pearl it's still to this day one of the highlights of the show for me. And not just the fight itself it's great, little details like the dance move that Pearl does before summoning Holo-Pearl or when she finally reforms are also extremely well animated. You can tell that this show was made with care. And finally.... It doesn't come as a surprise that some of you guys don't like Pearl or Steven, a lot of people in the Fandom had the same opinion back when season 1 was still airing. But don't worry.... they will grow on you A Lot as the series progresses.

I know it’ll probably take a while, but pearl is definitely one of the best characters in the entire show even if she starts out as somewhat unlikable I will make sure you guys check out the shorts after season one including the extended intro
