Annie wouldn't attack him while he was fishing on the shore. He said he had never ridden her before. That's how kelpies work in folk stories, they drag you down when you ride them. On a side note: Another traitorous Annie! By the way, giant squids of the deeps are actually different type (order) of cephalopod than the calamari, squid and octopi that people can consume. Giant squids are inedible because they are full of ammonia. And yes, if you watch videos of people hitting (killing) freshly caught squid on youtube, they go white immediately. Their colour must be controlled like some kind of muscle. I'm still unsure if the city below the water is submerged or if the water is actually floating and the city is actually BELOW the mass of water.

This show is so damn creative. I love it. This show keeps getting better and better every episode

Just an addition to the drag their prey down to the water, your crotch and inner thigh gonna stick to their glue-like skin, so you couldn't just jumping off them either. Once you're drowned, feast time for them.

*Suggests at the drop of a hat to murder the kelpie and use its innards as a boat *Wants to eat a fish-man *Snuck its eggs into their lunch anyway *Couldn't wait 10 minutes for dinner and ate a GIANT WORM. RAW. At this point there's no making excuses for the fact that Laois is completely unhinged. Even if his suggestions are pragmatic, he's still nuts xD

it's really a high-level weapon epi...as we love grilled eel not parasites…also often eat raw fish surely not demi-human SASHIMI nor SUSHI, plz don't mix in one epi! moreover sometimes also very fresh horses..taste so good ・(ノД`)・ difficult to explain four-legs-animal-eating, so I omit details. well, ln jpn we use KANJI and-so, in causally saying, call like cow-meat(牛+肉) cow-bo...sry milk(牛+乳), pig-meat (豚+肉), not part and like beef and pork...sheep? (maybe kind of dish-name. we don't call HATHIKUJI MAYOI like lost-beef, surely...and BUTA vibe is differ from TON...Japanese must be difficult to me!(confused) Is our Japan's excellent hygiene, a cause or a result...I now doubt.

Eating fish raw may seem unusual, but eating fish raw is a major practice in Japan. It is a dish called sashimi. (It may be easier to understand if you think of it as sushi without rice.) Sashimi is prepared with great attention to hygiene, as it is sometimes made from poisonous fish such as puffer fish. Even so, inexperienced chefs sometimes make mistakes that cause suffering to the people who eat it.(´;ω;`)

Incidentally, in Japan, there are sometimes news reports of people who eat pufferfish (amateurs without a cooking license, of course) by making sashimi on the spot after catching it, and are then taken to the hospital because they ate the poison.

This is definitely a show with a ton of set-up and payoff, but for shows like that it also requires plenty of time for those set ups, not only as plot points, but also generally to set up the expectation and depth in the story for that. The introductory part of the story is now done, and things will slowly start to ramp up from here, and oh boy, you're in for quite a treat :D

Regarding Marcille and Senshi, I think it is set up so that they both have things to learn to compromise on and to widen their worldview, and I love how they might differ in their opinions quite sharply, but still recognize each other's strengths and can rely on them when the situation calls for it. It is the beginning of a budding, beautiful relationship between two quite contrasting characters.

Dunno if you guys will see this a week after it hits youtube but, You mentioned Hair, and how its importance showed up here in this episode. Keep an eye on Marcille's hairstyles. It changes ALOT over the course of the season.
