It replaced one of my other favorite Anime Re:Zero so it’s funny how the end of 86 is lining up almost perfectly with the start of Re:Zero season 3 Also love how the scene when they finally talk mirrors the scene during the revolution festival with the fireworks here it’s the morpho blowing up

It's not too important, but when Shin was tapping his ear it wasn't because that's where the Para RAID was, it's because he couldn't hear anything at all. That's why he was relying on the machine to read Lena's lips until she turned on her Para RAID to talk to Cyclops

I was so caught up in them not "meeting" each other like other reactors that I didn't fully appreciate this episode until after the finale I'm so glad these guys love this episode for what it is and I genuinely can't wait for next week

Fun fact: When it originally aired there was a gap of 86 days between the previous episode and this one. Imagine having to deal with that cliffhanger for that long.

This episode is everything. This whole time Shin's biggest trauma is the fact he is always the final survivor. He's the best and he's destined to be the last one standing. Everyone leaves him one way or another. Seeing Lena survived, seeing that Lena has been carrying him with her just as he carried them all with him. Seeing there's someone who will carry HIM even after he's gone... God damn that that hits me in all the feels.

A few episodes earlier you all mentioned it felt similar to their trip out of San Magnolia and I do believe this is on purpose. The Morpho battle is definitely within San Magnolia borders (hence Lena being there). Also, I haven't read the light novel so I can't confirm, but back in episode 9 Kurena mentions they are passing a large field of red flowers. So this might be a place they've literally visited before.
