The shot where Shinbo is not there is a pov of Araragi looking into the mirror because vampires don't have reflections. Also his hair and the background are mirrored and everything is hazy.

Nisio Isin is a master at getting into his own character's heads. While most writers write stories and then populate those stories with characters, Nisio writes people and then messes with those people to create a story. With him it's not "How do we get from A to B?" but rather "Where would that character go from here?"

doubt they gonna read this, but its adapted from a light novel, thats why there is so much hidden and added dialogue, because they cannot add everything even if they made the episode 2x XD. But it does have a manga aswell for some of the arcs (that has insane art)
