they really should have cashed in on that crystal though. i guess we dont know how long they had walked from series town by that point. if it was only a few days, they could have just had stark walk 4 meters behind them and stow the crystal in a location farther away for when they sleep. if they can get like 20 gold coins or somethign for that thing, that would have funded the rest of their trip to ende

Fern was probably afraid that something happening to Stark, and them not being able to help him. Like him falling from somewhere high and getting separated, getting attacked, etc Also in a fight, if they are pushed near the crystal it could be instantly over for them. We are shown in this episode how blind Fern feels without the ability to detect mana. I guess you could still take these risks considering the value though

That ED is absolutely beautiful. Milet did it again. The entire episode was great. We got a soft reminder of past adventures, some old faces showed up and heralded new adventures, some more magic lore with the crystals, another amazing flashback with the GOAT Himmel, and a Stark/Fern ship being teased to boot. Perfect start to the new season! 10/10

I truly love this show. I had tears in my eyes the entire episode because it felt so much like coming home after a rough day and getting a big warm hug. I never knew that any show—anime or not—could feel so healing just watching.

Thanks for a fun reaction! It's exciting to journey on with you. It was great to see Wirbel again, even if he did try to steal their front-liner. Even if they'd kept the crystal, you know Frieren would have swapped it for a stack of rare grimoires taller than she is. There's a reason they always seem to be broke. Relatable. During the episode 28 closing credit montage we see Ubel walking by herself. Although if you Google for "Ubel playing the long game" there's a very funny short comic. I'd hope we don't see Lawine in the northern lands, she's only a 3rd class mage! Denken wanted to visit his wife's grave in northlands, so maybe we'll see him again? And what IS Laufen to him? It's nice to see how well Fern takes care of gifts. That bodes well for Stark's heart.
