OMG, you two reacting to Code Geass of all things is just perfect. I'm sure you'll absolutely love this show. A few things just for extra context: The studio behind this show is Sunrise, the same people who do the Gundam animes. The character designs were done by Clamp, the women behind Card Captor Sakura, Chobits, Tsubasa Chronicle and many others. This show came out in 2006, thus why it being set in 2017 is meant to show a "slightly futuristic" society in terms of the standards of those days. This show features an alternate timeline history with a number of historical events deviating from our own history. This next bit isn't spoilers, it's just extra historical lore that's never mentioned on the actual show and was found on the (now defunct) Code Geass website: A major historical deviation is that Napoleon was never defeated and conquered all of Europe, which forced the Britannian Royals to flee to their colony in the Americas. From there, they went on to increase the strength of their Empire, which leads to the current time of the story, with the Holy Britannian Empire now controlling 1/3 of the world. Another important difference in the Code Geass timeline: nuclear power was never discovered and developed. Instead, their technology is heavily based around superconductors, with Sakuradite being the best material there is. Japan holds about 70% of the Sakuradite mineral reserves of the world, with Mount Fuji having the biggest mine. This lead to their conquest by Britannia in order to seize control of their mineral resources. Sakuradite is heavily used inside and as part of Knightmare Frames.

And this is the only anime that I couldn't finish because of a single character. Which seems like a stupid beyond belief decision, and it probably was... But that just shows how much I hated that character.

Not nina... Isn't it obvious? Cmon. The most obnoxious, bland, pathetic, miserable PoS character ever created (besides that, the show is really good and I plan to rewatch it at some point). I don't wanna name because that might be a spoiler.

Love Code Geass especially the first season but I really hope you react to Fate, the fate series will blow your mind on many aspects.

No, it's not obvious. I think you assume it is because you imagine other people think of whatever character you mean in the same way, but it could literally just be you. Especially to just drop the show because of something like that. I don't even know how someone could be bland, but also obnoxious and seen as a piece of shit at the same time. Bland implies nothing going on and boring to watch, but the rest implies a visceral reaction, which characters should give, even if they're negative, making them not bland at all.

And if you don't know, here is how - try to not think about everything literally like a robot. He has no personality. He's as bland as water. He wants to do the right thing but he's completely clueless, so he doesn't know what's right, and that shoves people away from him. If he had even a smidge of personality instead, he'd be interesting. Also he has no values except self-serving ones. Most self-serving character I've ever seen lol Btw, I love people like you who over-analyze everything and then try to correct my own thoughts, as if somehow they know better what I meant XD It's pretty funny to me

@John Oh really? That's interesting.... So you're telling me that the anime pulled the ultimate 180 move and turned a character from pure trash, waste of oxygen braindead scum into a good character? I have some trouble believing that. But I guess I'll take your word for it.
