Hello Humans,

Before I go any further I have to share some very sad news.

Long-time patron, fan and friend Andy Brown has passed away.

We saw him last at the Crimson Veil show in Brighton - said our goodbyes as normal and he left the venue in seemingly good spirits.

I received word yesterday that he had died on his way to the train station, suddenly and without warning. We are waiting to hear the full story but I am deeply saddened to hear this news.

Andy lived and breathed music. He attended so many of my shows that I've lost count - he came to the smallest, biggest and most out-of-the-way-middle-of-nowhere shows, seeing the worst and best of us, he was a true fan of live music, and I was always grateful for his presence.

Over the years we had wonderful conversations, laughed at the craziness of the music industry and shared some fantastic stage memories. His constant dedication to live gigs always inspired me, and sometimes he was the difference between us having a good gig or a bad one, knowing he was always there, ready to cheer us on through the set.

He always complimented, never criticised, and showed us so much love, I actually can't believe I'm not going to see his face in the crowd again. Goodbye Andy, I hope you're rocking out at the great gig in the sky. We will miss you so much.

With this news in mind, I have a song for your ears. It's called "Song For Lovers, Unrequited".

It's a song about loneliness, and love, especially love that might not be returned. This could be love from a parent to a child who they no longer speak to... or loving someone after they have passed away... or perhaps loving someone who doesn't even know you exist.

The point of the song is that loneliness can exist in the strangest of places and when it is felt it can be extremely painful. I don't know why or where this song came from, but it burst through my head like a ray of light and demanded to be born, so here it is.

I want to thank the Coven members for their help in choosing the key signature. We went for F# major in the end, and I'm very pleased as I think the vocal sits very well, it was definitely the right choice.

For the finished product I will be adding drums, strings, brass, bass and choirs. It will be epic. For now it stands up on it's own, raw and unfiltered. I already love the mix that Garry has done, I think it works very well just as it is.

I hope you love it too.

My favourite line is "Don't you look for me, cos I will be gone, and only remembered for the things that I've done".

It seems fitting that the song comes out at this time, when we are mourning the loss of someone we love. I know Andy wouldn't want us to be sad, but he would want us to celebrate music, life and love in all it's capacity.

So here it is...

In memory of Andy Brown

Love,

Mishkin
