Dearest Patrons,

I hope you’re surviving January ok and staying warm and cosy. I know it’s been a bit of a silent month from me but trust me, shit has been going on. I have a lot of really good news to tell you…

I’m currently residing in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles with Hana and our good friend Jason Achilles.

(here they are between Margaritas and Burritos)

I’ve been here since last Wednesday while I tag along for Hana’s new solo harp album “Wednesday’s Child”.

We also managed to snag ourselves two tickets to NAMM fest, which is a massive industry showcase and trade fair for music. I made a lot of very cool connections and a couple of friends too.

This picture kind of sums it up...

I've got a meeting with Roland tomorrow and that is very, very exciting!

Anyway, my biggest piece of news is that I can finally announce we will be working with the legendary producer and musician John Fryer on our upcoming record THE WORLD CONSPIRES. If you don’t know John’s work then have a google, you will find a whole host of iconic albums including artists such as NIN, Depeche Mode and Swans just to name a few, as well as film scores, and his own current project, Black Needle Noise.

(Here is John, in his studio, perfecting the pout)

This is a dream come true for Birdeatsbaby. We’ve always struggled to find people who understand our sound, and have been fiercely self-produced for the last two records, and while I enjoy engineering/producing as a band it’s important to get help from someone with experience. J

ohn mixed our last single “Painkiller” (if you didn’t see the video it’s here) and did such a great job we felt he was the right fit for our sound on the entire album. He’s also really easy to work with and we don’t feel like we have to compromise our vision.

Basically, I am very happy right now and can’t wait to share these future tracks with you!

So.

Without further ado I would like to reveal our next “thing” which is the next song from TWC. It’s called Lady Grey. Here’s the lyrics, and a lyric video too... enjoy!

Love & Feathers,

Mishkin X

LADY GREY

She walked into the open arms

Of a city laced in grey

Her shadow fell upon the farms

Feet heavy as they tread

She lassoed up those city folk

With a clicking of her tongue

And made their dreams vermillion

And blackened by the sun

In our lost lonely cage

In the absence of grace

We were shadows

In my trust uniteth

For the faithful mind is

Circles five by art

Lady Grey

A sighting at the city gates

Was not enough to scare

The children lay awake in bed

For her name they do not dare

To ricochet her memory

Or drag it through the mud

Her name like nightmare reverie

To curse the royal blood

In his sleep he would stray

To the place where she lay

Bloody fingers

In her grave she remains

But the ghost of her pain it will linger

Lady Grey

The morning came in mockery

A guilty sky in grey

The sun rose up like Calgary

Lit where the bodies lay

I come to claim their innocence

For my sister and my son

My love will wander back to me

For all my sorrows won

Cos she’s my Lady Grey

Let me know your thoughts and feelings!! We love to know your feedback x

Other tiers will be getting their rewards over the next few days so watch this space...

This sounds wonderful, as does Painkiller. It seems like you really have got the right person in with John. I think this is going to be your best album yet 😊

mark baltzer

top notch as always my wife sally just came in the room and said that would make a really good james bond theme tune .I wonder what you guys think of that idea

Andreas Beste

I am very happy this sounds much better to me than painkiller did. I thought Painkiller wasnt mixed at all!? But maybe I understood something wrong. I really like this song but because I am a pain in the ass I have to notice that I prefere Garry on the bass. Too many guitar tracks for my taste but I wouldnt go so far and call it guitar wankery. The song is really great! :D

Gerry Dilettant

I'm in love of this song, it's stunning more than Painkiller, lady grey sounds distressing and very powerful in each note, similar to a merge of a barrier of sound in Garbage with explosive sounds like Muse, so i missed a little bit the piano or keyboard. It rocks, i loved it :)

Ralf Hoppe

It might sound boring to you, but it is the simple truth: Yes! Another song, i really like.

Mishkin Fitzgerald

thank you lovelies, we're very proud and much, much more to come <3

Amazing news. Adore Fryer's work. Well done BeB - a great feather in your cap 😉👍

Dietmar Bloech

I love the direction you are taking - amazing song

Darren Robinson

well this album is shaping up to have its own unique sound- this should be interesting.
