Dearest Patrons,

I'm not going to lie, this January been a little bit like this song - kind of a rough one.

Everything is generally fine and ticking away as much as it can do, but the ongoing lockdown in England is really starting to grind. I've had hardly any contact with anyone, no face-to-face lessons and a couple of days ago I got a bad flu meaning no work/exercise/practice. I am waiting on the results of a covid test, and my mental health is a bit low.

The winter is usually a killer for my depression - I'm sure many of you can relate. Also, being ill just puts a halt on everything which I find terribly frustrating. I'm not good at sitting still or binge-watching netflix. If I'm not making music I can get quite anxious. I can't wait till the weather is just a little better and perhaps I can resume my mushroom hunting activities. 

Anyway, now that I've had a moan,  I am very grateful to have these videos pre-made by the wonderful folks at Bucks Uni so I can send them your way from the comfort of my bed. Ropes is one of my favourite songs from TWC and was a real challenge for my voice to perform on record. Playing it stripped back acoustically just me and Hana was terrifying but our vocals prevailed (due to some rather epic warm-ups) and I'm really pleased with this live version. Hope you enjoy it, and it makes yourJanuary a little more musical.

I'll be back at the end of the month with our brand new song I Only Get What You Give Me. Hopefully my vocals will bounce back from the flu before long and I'll be back on track.
