Think I was 9 when I became a latchkey kid? I knew how to use a microwave and knew to not use the oven or stove when I was home alone. Both parents worked and I was an only child, so it was just more practical for the days when we couldn't find/afford a babysitter. Idk I was just the kind of kid who could be trusted, and we lived out in the boonies so no big risk of burglary or violence.
