Howdy everyone!

Time for the next iteration of CH, woo!

Links are below as usual, feedback goes into the comments or onto the Discord. Have fun!

Update-only (v0.47.x → v0.48.0): To use it, extract the contents of the update-only .zip file into your Crimson High folder and overwrite when prompted. If it doesn't ask to overwrite, you've funked up. If that is the case, please remain calm and ask your neighbors for help. Or me. That works, too.

I have just started playing this game I actually played it because of it murder mystrey theme. It mentioned it is a slow burn but girls in the starting are acting very weirdly...everyone is obsessed with main character which feels unrealistic and not what I expected. I want to play it in one go when it is fully completed don't know how long will that take.

I have been waiting for this update for WEEKS! I started playing with the last update and I AM HOOKED! I just wish the updates would come faster. Btw, how many more updates have you planned? How much of the story is left? 50%? I am assuming v1 will be the finale.

VertigoGaming

Happy to hear that! Even faster? CH is already one of the fastest-releasing AVN out there :P I'm trying to go for v1.0 as the finale, but planning that is near impossible, so the game might end on like v0.91 or whatever. Generally speaking, there is a good amount of story left to go through, but we've passed the 50% mark already. I'd say 30-40% are still left?

If you want realism, you may have to go live life, mate. The game is a work of fiction and some things are prone to be less realistic to enable certain supernatural elements. There is also the scope of the project to be considered. Given the size of the cast, this is the slowest I can go for. If I were to go any slower, the game's development would get dragged out over a few decades - and nobody wants that. Besides, not nearly everyone is obsessed with the MC - especially early on in the game. My advice: Just take things the way they are and allow some suspension of disbelief. That'll keep you a lot happier than to try and apply real-world logic to a fictional story

Appreciate you take time in reading reviews about your game it means you want to improve and listen to community. But You didn't understood what I meant. The world dosent take itself seriously. It was said in starting of game that this is a heavy story focused game. The thing is the starting dialogues made it look like a genuine murder mystery NSFW game like some detective conan episode. But it feels like a parody of detective movies. Vibe created by The prologue somewhat contradicted the main material. For example gta 6 Dev's says we are making ground breaking real life physics based game. More real than real life and when game comes out there are plenty of glitches and same old graphics and ppl realise they took 13 years for that shi then people find them and criticise rockstar. Rockstar responds with it is just a game glitches happens. While their goal was to make realistic game possible. The way prologue was made "story focused only" I assumed theme will be more serious but the teacher was flirting with the detective on day 1 while her student just got murdered. I found that really absurd. Don't know if it's deliberate to make teacher and everyone else look suspicious to trick into thinking the teacher is the murderer that's why she is so relaxed.

VertigoGaming

There are two components to this: For one, like you said, you're assuming that something is some way or another. That's your perception and thoughts projected on a single line of prologue. Just because something says it's "story-focused" doesn't mean that it needs to be 100% serious all the time. By now, you should have noticed that the game is not, in fact, a murder mystery. The whole murder plot is there to jump-start the overall supernatural story. The MC goes to investigate what he thinks is a normal murder at a school, but what he finds is a bunch of Myths whom he didn't even knew existed beforehand. The fact that this isn't a murder mystery should have become clear the moment the MC was fired from his job as a detective. The second component you already recognized - everyone is acting nonchalant around the murder scene (something the MC explicitly comments on being suspicious) as a way to hint at a murder like that being not what it seems, both because there is more to it than "it just being a murder" and because the characters are used to violence in their lives, because they have been living in a constant shadow war with both the Church and POOP for their whole lives. Even the average person (e.g. a teacher at a school) gets jaded from existing in a state like that. Additionally, the teacher, whom you correctly pointed out being very flirtatious, is a literal cougar (again, MC comments on that) which is another hint towards the supernatural element of the story. I apologize if something was misleading or made you expect something else. That was not my intention. I do think that things make sense the way they are, but I'll also admit that especially the early game has some weaknesses. There isn't much I can do about that, though, since I'm not going to rework the early game and thus put the actual development of new content on hold, just to fix something that doesn't need fixing.

Excuse me why aren't you using AI?

Necroelf

Please don't use that crap AI stuff :) btw any update to next release ? Love this game can never wait to get more awesome job :)

VertigoGaming

Thank you, that's very kind of you :) I have no intentions of using AI for CH as a whole, as it currently stands. For Kagome's mangas, it was a stylistic choice, but aside from that, I don't see the need to downgrade the game's graphics. As for updates about the next release: I'll make a dev log about the progress and whatnot sometime this week, but the TL;DR of it is that it's coming along nicely. Gonna update the progress report later today, too - provided I don't forget lol

Hi VertigoGaming! I am writing this message because I truly needed to thank you for creating Crimson High. What an absolute mind-blowing game! It is a resounding 10/10 and, without exaggerating, a true masterpiece. The level and fluidity of the animations are simply insane; it’s a constant visual delight. But what completely blew my mind was the story. It is so spectacular and well-written that it literally hijacks you; you tell yourself "just a little bit more" and end up playing for hours and hours purely out of the need to know what happens next. It is incredibly rare to find such perfect immersion. I wanted to tell you all this because projects with this level of quality, effort, and dedication absolutely deserve all the support and recognition in the world. Thank you for the countless hours of hard work you put into this game; you can genuinely feel the immense passion in every single detail. Obviously, I am already eagerly waiting for the next update so I can continue enjoying this story. Best of luck, and please keep it up, you have an incredible talent!

VertigoGaming
