Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ep. 17 (Patreon)

This episode was full of power plays and emotional weight. Wang So finally claims the throne after the king’s death—Hae Soo bravely confirms the decree, but the tension between them and Queen Yoo is everything. So steps in, tells his mother to back off, and makes it clear that anyone who doubts his right to rule isn’t safe. It’s tense, and So’s new edge is sharp.

Later on, we get this surprisingly sweet dinner scene that cuts through the tension: So quietly serves food to 13th Prince Baek-ah, who thanks him with such sincere surprise—and Hae Soo pulls a cheeky egg prank. It's one of the few bittersweet breathers in the episode that reminded us why we’re rooting for them even as the stakes get darker.
