At their wedding ceremony, Ye Ran surprises Cheng Che by breaking his strict rules and kissing her in front of everyone. She slaps him, but he simply smiles and replies, “If I don’t hold your face, I might miss it.”Moments later, Cheng Che’s powerful aunt crashes the celebration, confronting Ye Ran with a photo of a man smoking opium — his brother. But to protect his cover and the mission, Ye Ran saccepts responsibility, setting up the fallout that follows. He strips to prove his identity (not really sure what that proved but sure) and Grandma orders him to be whipped as punishment.
