The reason everyone laughed when Sungjin was asked to step forward during the warm-up is because he is famously known as the idol who can’t dance at JYP. (It’s a well-known joke that Park Sungjin is the “main dancer” of JYP.) He is actually the main reason why JYP formed a band in the first place. Sungjin trained at JYP for three years but still couldn’t dance; however, the company couldn’t let him go because of his distinctive and powerful voice. As a result, JYP decided to create a band for the first time, which eventually led to the formation of DAY6. Although Young K and Wonpil were fairly good at dancing. Young K was even known as a high-ranking trainee at JYP, the band format became the perfect solution. The members of DAY6 trained during the same period as GOT7 and TWICE.
