I'm starting to work out some character designs in parrallel with the Ferus Machina vehicles.  I'm currently rendering up the final design for the GAZ-L, so I'll post that soon enough.

The idea for this character is a young, reckless girl who wants to explore the world but is stuck working in her father's machine body shop.  I want her to pilot the GAZ-L eventually, so I'm also pulling some ideas from that.  I find the last design on the right to be the most interesting, but I'll need to add some personalized items or something flashy to spice it up a bit.

A quick note on methodology. I started by sketching the 2 blue poses to get the anatomy and basic structure down. The gesture also helps to portray a bit of her personality.  I wanted her to be nimble and a bit fragile but also elegant - like a gazelle. I know this is my typical go-to body type but for this project I want to challenge myself with highly contrasting bodies, proportions, and different ethnicities.

The process has been recorded so far, so once I finish the character I'll compile the footage and make a youtube video!
