I really love this. It's so true that what makes you feel empowered at one point in your life can later move into focus as you understand the world better and you realize it was... toxic. And it's really nice that Battam has a healthy sexual history. It kind of makes sense, too. He is very much a foil to Sal in this, in that Sal lied and twisted himself into all kinds of shapes to appeal to others, while Battam's entire thing is that he neither does that to himself nor demands it of others.
