Hey all! So, we've known for a while that Patreon is going to force my page from a "per update" style page to a "monthly" style page. However: they told me I had longer than I actually to do make this happen: so we're going into red alert mode between this and Tapas shutting down. Oof.

What does this mean for you?

Honestly: nothing. Your pledge will be unaffected and you will keep getting access to your rewards as usual. You may even choose to pay for a membership annually or up your pledge since it'll be easier and more straight forward to do so.

What does this mean for me?

A lot, actually. I get by on Patreon because many kind souls choose to tip me. This means they're paying more than the base $3 or $5 to get access to the page and those tips are how I've paid my bills for years now. These going away will mean that my income is effectively halved overnight.

Some of you have very kindly asked me about tipping with new memberships and I'm pleased to announce that Patreon does allow folks to tip with a monthly system, but you'll need to go in an manually change your pledge amount from whatever it is currently to whatever you'd like to tip in the future.

I understand that is not something everyone can or wants to do but I do still hope some folks will choose to give me even an extra $2 a month because it will go a long way. Alas, I have to face reality that most folks will choose just to stay at their current tier.

So, what am I going to do about it?

The only thing I can really do now is try to do a giant Patreon pledge campaign. I had planned to do this after my busy October: but it looks like I don't have a choice now. August being completely gone from illness has already made my work life a mess and I'm playing catch-up all the time. This was something I had hoped to push off but it looks like that is not an option for me.

I will be posting around socials and asking new folks to join the page, I will be running promotions once the page turns over and I'll be focusing heavily on trying to get folks to understand just how many images I actually post on the Secret Club each month: because it's a lot. I don't know anyone else with my output for this price so now I just have to find a way for people to get that and to care: which is a VERY hard thing to do! Especially in this economy.

I wish I had something like, smart or hopeful to say but entering the holiday seasons with something like this on my back is hard. I'm grateful for everyone here and for the folks who I know have been with me for literal years: you are the lifeblood of my work and I do not take you for granted. I will continue to try and make cool things that you can enjoy and look forward to.

If you are wanting to help: sharing posts you see about this around social media is great but also just sharing my work with a friend or a Discord server, etc also always helps me out a lot. I'm also hoping that folks might write reviews about my work for their blogs, Youtube channels, etc. I'm gonna be doing everything I can in my power to make this work. I'm tired but scrappy.

TLDR: Expect changes and lots of post in October but your pledge will go unaffected.
