DOWNLOAD THE UNCENSORED PAGE BELOW!

Had a rough day yesterday. Webtoons took down the most recent episode of Solanaceae, which like, of course they would, it's Webtoons-- but reading about how much this happens to other folks, and just how strict it is, and seeing just HOW much my comics struggle there is really frustrating. Plus, it's very frustrating to see folks to uninformed on why this kind of thing isn't good, and why this kind of thing happens in the first place, oof. (The comment section on Webtoons can get ROUGH.)

Feeling better today, but def wanna say, if you read the comic publicly, I think Comicfury, FA, Twitter, or Tapas are the best places to do so right now. (Tapas still needs to be censored, but at least the site layout is pretty easy to use and it helps my numbers a lot to be read there.) And thank you to folks who already read it there, if you do! :D

Anyways! This page is fun, there's a lot of cute faces and Battam looks great, wow.

As another reminder: I'm getting my 2nd COVID vaccine dose on the 21st, so I expect to be out of it at least for that day and the weekend, maybe into next week. Apologies in advance for that affecting the speed of my releases.

Thanks for your support everyone!

Seems to me that Tapas and Webtoons specifically have very inconsistent rules on adult content, even with censorship. They apply it strictly, sometimes let some go and then hang one up on the smallest bit of skin. Sorry to hear you're having a tough day. Battam looks hot, not sure how much more Sal can last, he's doing so well bless him. I wonder where this is going? Down the teasing and denial route? Edge him into a mess?

From my experience, Tapas is at least more willing to work with folks-- but I would agree both of them are hypocritical with their rules and often let their premium comics basically break the rules. Just wish folks were more willing to use sites like Comicfury, but people REALLY just wanna use mobile apps only, which are notoriously some of the most censored things out there right now. WOOF.

Quadrant

Personally I don't want to use the mobile app, but Tapas is intent on pushing it. I'm happy just using my browser on mobile. I'd like to see ComicFury get more users, especially since SmackJeeves got screwed over, but I think the site seems too dated or not busy enough? Idk. Tapas is in the middle of a takeover by Kakao Entertainment from South Korea, and I've heard some authors voice concerns over what future it'll drag the site down. I don't really visit Webtoons tbh

DCS

Yeah, most sites push mobile apps b/c apps (generally) make micro transactions and spending "easier" and get users using the site more, in theory. I've seen a lot more movement on Comicfury, actually, and I 'm hopeful for it's future. Sometimes it just takes a hot second to update sites, but I've seen them make a lot of really smart decisions with the features and look. ^u^ Tapas staff says the "takeover" won't affect anything, but only time will tell. Webtoons really isn't worth visiting the site is not that fun to use! It's a mess!!! Not sure how it got to be number 1...

Quadrant

SmackJeeves staff said the same thing when they got took over and look at the garbage fire that site ended up in. To the point that everyone abandoned it and NHN shut it down. I'm hopeful for ComicFury too, because of how much individual control it gives creators and that it also has relaxed rules on allowing adult content. I dunno if or how many people use DrunkDuck (or The Duck as it calls itself now?) but I found that site awkward to navigate too tbh. And yeah, I think ComicFury is also just having to deal with a sudden influx of users too which can bring challenges when the service isn't designed to deal with that load.

DCS

Oh yeah, that's a good point about Smackjeeves. I think the real downfall there was taking away features folks really liked about SJ's and what made it different from the other sites-- it's important for companies to realize what they have that's UNIQUE I think, but most just wanna be the same. LOL DrunkDuck is where I started posting comics on originally, back in High School! It's a mess and they've never updated their site, they REALLY NEED TO. From what I understand, Comicfury is doing ok, it just really does take time to overhaul a site like that, and I think they're trying to be thoughtful of how they do it. IDK I gotta have hope in SOMETHING lol

Quadrant

Didn't help that the owners pushed the changes out without any testing, any user or artist feedback, etc. They just pushed out a complete overhaul overnight that took away so many features and made so many things harder. I think ComicFury is the best platform going forward for that though.

This is all really good to know, thanks for talking about this. I've heard similar from other creators but didn't really know what I could do about it other than support on Patreon when I can. Fingers crossed for Comicfury... also humanity, worried about that one too.
