Q+A for Chapter 3 now open early for Patrons! (Patreon)

Hello, my lovely Patrons! It's that time again, Q+A time! 

As always, I like to open things like this early for Patrons and I also prioritize your questions as well. 

The image above basically tells all! You can submit questions for the cast of Solanaceae here and I'll consider answering them at the end of Chapter 3. (I'll post all the responses early for ya'll, of course.)

OH! And ignore the part in this image that says you can't ask me questions, Y'ALL CAN ASK ME WHATEVER YOU WANT, but it won't count towards any Q+A image that gets released, I'll simply reply here to you. :)

P.S.

Would anyone be interested in a Q+A but for all of my characters, as possibly a milestone goal of some kind? Just a thought.

Hi DCS, I hope you're recovering well from your vaccine!! I have some questions for the cast: A question to everyone- what is your favorite scent, if you have one? Battam, what is a potion you would like to create, and what is it used for? Battam and Sal, is there anything in particular you would like to see the other wear? (NO, "nothing" doesn't count! XD)

Hey! So far so good in terms of mild symptoms, but the last hour or so I've def started to feel some more body aches, dizziness, and some chilliness here and there. These are all great questions, THANK YOU FOR THEM!

Hello, I’m kinda new to this but I have questions for everyone -What/when is your birthday? - how old are you? -how tall are you ( sorry if these are questions I can’t ask or have already been asked) PS. I love you’re comics and I hope you feel better

Thanks so much for your questions! Since these questions don't require long answers (aka art) from each character, I'll answer them here! -I don't usually decide the birthdays for characters, for personal reasons! Folks are free to think whatever they think about their birthdays tho, I'm basically always fine with head canons. -The ages of everyone changes, but at the start of the prologue, Battam is 25, Sal is 27, and Satine is 21. (3 years pass between the beginning of the prologue and then the beginning of the epilogue) -Battam is 4'11", and I don't remember exactly where Sal and Satine are, but Sal is in the upper five foot range, and Satine is EASILY in the mid 6 foots. (Haha, sorry, some info I have about my characters are just kind of vague, I don't usually sweat the small stuff.) Question for Chibi: Out of all the pages you drew in Chapter 3 which one was your favorite to draw out Also what is Battam's favorite food that Sal creates? And is Satine's fav outfit to wear if he has one?

Hey! Hands-down, page 46 (the page where Battam has his feet showing out of the tub and sal is like ?!?!) is my favorite page of the chapter, but I think page 44 (where battam is pouring the potion into the bath) is the best looking. I was really nervous for that whole scene at the time, and even now I'm like hmmm is the pacing ok? But looking back at it now, I'm happy with it! :D Also, these other questions are great, thank you!

I just love satine so much - I would love to ask if he plans /styles his hair and outfit to match on the daily bc he's always so fashionable to me 😅😅😅

i have several questions for you! - when happens when a witch and a non-witch (human, non-witch chimera...) have a child? - do you need a coven to pass down witch markings? - we know what liquid-type magic does when the user is wafting. what's it like with say, mucus magic or solid magic? for satine and battam: if you had to pick another type of magic than your own, which one would it be and why?

HEY! Very interesting questions, here's my answers: -I'm undecided at the moment if a human and a non-witch can have children just yet, but if they can/do, I think it would be very rare for the child to have magic in the way we think of it (aka it takes form from their body) because I think witches probably have different organs/glands than the rest of the races and it may be a recessive gene type situation. [MAJOR SPOILERS] This wouldn't necessarily stop that child from doing SOME magical stuff though... more on that later though... -No coven necessary to pass down witch markings! The marriage ceremony can be done by any two witches, though it's not possible to pass your markings on to someone who is a non-witch visibly. (That we know of yet at least. Battam does paint Sal every and even though it didn't leave visible marks, it did leaves marks on his "soul" as it were! So there's def some variations of this I could see going down.) -Very good question! I think most magic is pretty light and could just waft off someone's head or out of their ears, like we've seen happen with Battam, but I can also imagine a mucus type witch getting a runny nose, or REALLY teary eyes. Their palms would probably get pretty sweaty too. Mineral magic feels like sand when it's freshly out of someone, so I imagine that can waft up and away too, but look more like a big dusty cloud. Witches can expel out of their mouths really easily too, so lots of witches with vapour types will straight up have steam come out of their ears, haha. (This might happen to Satine in the game!) I'll have to try and showcase some of this stuff! VERY GOOD QUESTION THANK YOU Thanks for the other question too! I'll put it in the pool~

thanks so much! aah i forgot one about the markings: are they useful for something? what happens if a witch doesn't go through a ceremony and doesn't get markings?

The markings are mostly used to track family lineage, and can change within a witch's lifetime if something big happens like something traumatic or life changing in some way. (They can also swirl and change if the magic is getting really intense, this has happened to Battam!) They are as flexible as a witches magic is, truly, just an extension. Witches are born with markings, so as long as a witch has someone they were like, physically born from, they will have markings. (In this case, the combined markings of their parents.) I suppose it would be possible to get married and NOT combine your markings with your partner (like say, if you just didn't want to, or had a regular human marriage) if one so chose! It's a very like, voluntary act. Hope that makes sense! My lore is always quite messy haha
