So, if some of you weren't aware: it's very possible that *all* adult creators are gonna be getting the ban hammer here on Patreon in the pretty near future. (There's a ton of good evidence for this, unfortunately.)

I haven't chosen to switch over to any other platform yet because I *heavily* rely on Patreon income to live and because the big switch is going to be VERY annoying when it does happen and I'll be taking a huge pay cut when it does. (When a creator switches platforms, ever, you usually lose at least half of your following.)

So, for folks who may not be the most tuned into my social media or who may not even know this ban might be coming, this is just a reminder to bookmark my Substar in some way for future use. If adult content does get banned entirely, you're probably not even gonna get a notification from Patreon so please consider following me on at least one other site so we can hook up later.

It's possible I may not even use Substar and might try OF but I heard their process for getting stuff going is harder. Not sure.

At the moment, just trying not to freak out and continue on. I've got savings (thanks to all of you) at LEAST so I'd be able to make it through a small storm.

Thank you all for supporting me and sticking with me! I've been on Patreon since 2014 so it's going to be very tough if I do get removed off the platform. I've genuinely loved being able to post my work here, y'know?

I guess that's just how the internet is right now.

I'm so tired of all this censorship stuff man first smackjeeves then tapas and webtoon and literally every other platform and now patreon (which also has a lot of other issues) is doing the same 😭😭😭😭 that's such a bummer and I feel terrible for all of these amazing creators :(((

From my understanding, Webtoons has ALWAYS been super heavy on censorship? Did I miss some golden era where they weren't? 😩 But yeah, this stuff sucks! And it's complex to even know who to blame. But, in this case, it's likely because they are going public and want more money LMAAAOOO but honestly they are gonna lose a ton of revenue from NSFW game creators and the like who have big payouts. IMO, it's dumb as hell. AND YEAH I'm a lucky one who has savings, a lot of other people DO NOT and won't be able to weather the storm like I will (and it's only thanks to yall that I even can) now is DEF a time to tell creators you care about their work if you can

Lol way back in like 2012 there was a short period where tapas (formerly tapastic) and webtoons were censorship free 😭😭😭 I feel so terrible for everyone :(( manifesting good vibes and hopefully patreon realizes what they did and fix it!! Or at least take a hit bc the platform is whack ☠️ 😭😭😭

Oh wow! I had no idea! I knew about Tapas but not Webtoons, WOW!!! I'm not hopeful about Patreon (because money seems to trump all) but hey, that's... that's life being a horny creator on the internet 😭 I wish PH would make a site for art LOL

Right lol I remember it vividly bc I got annoyed and stopped using webtoons until like last week ☠️☠️☠️ maybe all the creators should band together and make their own haven site or something 😭😭😭 I am hopeful that it'll work out tho! Made a substar account thing in preparation for the crash 🫠 it's like Tumblr all over again lolol

This really blows! I just subscribed to your patreon on to!!!!! I just wanted one consistent platform but now every major one is just crumbling. I really hope this doesn't affect you too poorly because I've fallen in love with work

But why censor patreon? I can sum what understand something like YouTube, but it's a paid subscription that the user must willingly pay for to view the content. It would be like paying to get into a club only for it to get replaced with a family friendly McDonald's only to still have to pay to get in.

There are some people trying to get together to make this stuff happen (cohost and pillowfort) but it's VERY difficult to run an image heavy site, especially a PORN site. There's a ton of back end stuff that makes this shit super fucking tough so I can't blame anyone for now having a good replacement pop up. 😩 A lot of folks are making their own websites in response to this (a thing that used to be common place) but there really is no beating the discoverability of Tapas/Webtoons/Etc. It's a super complex topic X_X

First off, thanks for subbing! Secondly, we have no idea WHEN the ban is coming for accounts like mine (or if it'll even happen) so hopefully I can be around for many months to come. But, I've learned my lesson with sites like Tumblr and I always need a backup plan and to communicate that with folks. Patreon itself isn't going anywhere, it's just the adult content, most likely :/

So, this is a hard question to answer! A lot of sites are bowing to the demands of payment processors but in this case: it's probably for future investors. Patreon wants to go public and start doing trading so uh, having a more "family friendly" image is helpful for that. That's the best answer I have for you right now, sorry. It's a very complex issue and in general, porn on the internet is in trouble for MANY many reasons and uh, it's rough!

:(( it's tough being a creator I don't think I could ever do it especially with the technological and marketing side of it 😭😭😭 I really am amazed by everyone out here!! I've seen some amazing creators out there who make awesome work and im really hoping it doesn't wipe everyone out :(( but let us know if anything changes or if we need to break out the picket signs and unionize or something bc this is not ok 😭😭😭😭

It is so beautiful and indulgent in all the ways I want my 18+ content to be. You are a phenomenal, super talented creator and, like others, deserve more than this censorship bullshit 😭

Damn I’ve been on this platform 10 years and up until last year if it wasn’t broke don’t fix it. Then it starts crumbling. I survived the anticipated tumblrpocalypse only to go back 3 years later and find my account just sitting there like nothing happened. Guess it’s gonna be the way of the world, will you get on Bluesky?

I've had bluesky for a while: https://bsky.app/profile/darkchibishadow.bsky.social (I've got basically every platform you can think of except facebook LOL) Yeah, with Tumblr they mostly focused on /posts/ and not accounts and could let people restore them if they appealed. Patreon (from my understanding) isn't doing anything. And to be fair, this is mostly speculation based off what they are banning and the fact that they're going public to get investors soon. So, how knows! Maybe I'll be fine??? 😭💦

I think all that will be left is Youtubers, but if Patreon starts banning certain types of content they will leave too because some Youtubers use Patreon to post stuff they can't on Youtube and well... 😂 Yeah a ton of folks don't explicitly make adult work publicly but a bunch of them use Patreon as a paywall for it, and they will all be swept up in the ban too. IT SUCKS!!

I’ve seen creators post spicy but not adult previews on here then refer their subscribers to a Dropbox / google / Mega page where the actual 18+ files are hosted for downloading. Maybe that’s a workaround?

Nope, not gonna work. If the ban does come and people are caught doing this, they will be banned for sure. Patreon already uses off site content as a grounds to ban people and lots of folks get banned off various sites for nsfw link. (YouTube being one of them and Facebook too, I believe.)

Nope! Not how policies like this work. (Also anyone using Google could be banned from Google btw.) If the ban does come this would be immediate grounds for patreon to ban someone because they ALREADY use off site material to ban people. Plenty of sites ban people for nsfw links already, including YouTube, Facebook and even some places on reddit. So, not a workaround for folks in the slightest especially if those goes into affect because you cannot unmark your page as adult and you HAVE to disclose on the front that your work is 18+ BY US LAW. So us folks who are marked are doomed i think. And wow it is a lot of extra work too considering how much i post. AND LASTLY... there isn't much of a reason for me to use other hosts when I'm already running an entire secret club site that hosts thousands of images. XD Please tell me you've been looking at that site and now its there cuz some folks will be pledged for months and not check somehow LOL

Also just to be clear, this is all speculation. All we know is that they banned a ton of creators recently and are about to go public, so we are simply preparing for the worst since the writing is on the wall. My patreon could be up for years to come or it could be in the next wave of bans because I'm pretty sure bdsm and furry stuff is next...
