This is beautiful! I love it. It really brings the order to life and gives it a logical flow in time. (Though even if they shifted to fiber armor because lighter weight for being women, I still think they could probably kick my butt pretty soundly, LOL)

Love the back story. Though I will say that I slightly disagree with the reasoning for the fabric armour. The fabric would be easier to produce, that is sure, BUT a chain mail hauberk weighs barely 8 kg , not much more that the gambeson, and is highly maneuverable. The trick is to roll a bit of the hauberk over your belt so that it is also supported by your hips.

in many reason gambeson became better choice for the sisters. not only the weights or maneuverability. lore aside, sure we can always give fantasy setting with best metal armors, but think of padded armors supposed to be more common in history but were sooooo underrated. that's one of the reason I insisted padded for Ordo Mediare Sisters. (also looks puffy and cute.)

Lore! Glorious Lore! Even after their demilitarized, I could easily see the Mediare nuns still training in fitness and martial arts within their walls, all the way up to the present day. One must be prepared, after all.

Oh, absolutely. Gambeson is outstanding protection for it's weight, even by modern standards. Put on some munition plate or a brig, and a sister becomes almost as well armored as a fully equipped Knight. Even gambeson alone was often worn.
