Quaffnot the Raven

Gorgeous work! Can I ask what kind of shield that is? My knowledge has come up short for once!

Gray Imaginings

I too am curious. Targes are round, but the size is right.

A very romantic depiction.🥰

You go, girl! Vanquish those Roman dogs and steal their women!

the size of the shield looks a bit small but the notches allowed the warrior to rest the spear into it.

Man, H-Shield is certainly an anti-climactic name, haha, but it certainly is descriptive!

I absolutely love this. But still its only second to Aphrodite. Unless you want pretty gorgons.

Now there is one impressive lady. I would certainly be concerned if she came charging toward me armed, look at those legs, she just screams "power". Love it. Are we going to see more of her, and her tribe/community? I hope so.

Targes are not all necessarily round. The classic Scots targe is round, however, if you look at some of the Renaissance forms, they are also square, sometimes referred to as "target".

Love this! Hope you feel inspired to make more Picts.

The Pict stones found in Scotland and the isles bear beautiful carved animals and other pictures. While they are now colorless, they were once painted with beautiful old colors. I have one of the boars, colored to match the original, tattooed on my arm. The famous blue woad was not the only color used by the Picts. And they dyed cloth with it too. So… a pict lady in blue jeans (maybe with acid washed patters to match the body paint could represent a modern take? With a rugby bat for a weapon?
