Rare Antique Blower [Restoration]

It blows.

Very cool project. That ornate valve looks like it is a gas light valve from Victorian era. Google that and check images. Liking the voice overs! thanks! :)

Wilmer Schock

Alkies used to pump the gas through milk which would turn it blue, hence the first use of the phrase "blue heaven". Unlike some of my comments that one was true.

Do you do birthday parties with your balloon inflating machine?

Kyle Hoffman

The Japanning ingredients, are the ratios by volume or weight?

Tillbert

Awesomesauce. Should find a really old air gun so that you can slowly undo really loose fastners in a very dramatic way. Also I don't know if you plan to but you should keep the vopiceovers for the patreons giving people a who haven't already an incentive to join.

handtoolrescue

Hahaha, I should! Yes, I will be doing the voiceovers for the restoration videos going forward.

handtoolrescue

Oh damn! You are right. That is 100% what it's from. Hmmmmm.

handtoolrescue

Of course! All the kids can come and stick their fingers in the pulley.

Tillbert

How fast do you think that the air pump could operate anyway to build up the psi?

Felix

How did you find patinated brass replacements for the black iron nipples?

Clifton Ballad

Ok, i'm splitting my post up, half here half in the community section... I lost it at the sand blasting bit, and I couldn't help but watching such skillful use of a wire wheel. If I had my beer in my hand I wouldn't be able to reply right now... Every reference to crying in the corner made me chuckle in nervous solidarity. All I can add is study the ways of Tony and Chris when it comes to narrating and timing. The text of 30 days cure time explained everything that you were saying during scraping the old gasket off the glass. This might apply only to me but you never know. End all this seems like the kinda blower that one would stick on a band saw to clear chips, most likely tree carcass...

handtoolrescue

Hahaha, glad you liked that. I will study them HARD.

If the voice version is just for us, don't worry about it but if you are publishing it to the real world, you might want to revisit the audio mix in The Torch Scene ... your voice was no match for propane and propane accessories ... :-) The pressure seems so low but maybe it was attached to something in the printing press that had tiny pipes and only had to move one sheet at a time?

Glenn Severance

You are hysterical. Love your podcast with Jimmy and the grumpy guy.

Peter Laws

Wait ... there's a podcast?!?!?

Andrew Billi

Love the audio description! Not half as creepy as your faces make you out to be! ;)
