Two-Man Chainsaw - Bar & Chain [Restoration]

Wilmer Schock

Several of my friends were wondering why you don't do a restoration on some everyday item. We decided that we'd like to see an ordinary screwdriver restored. Is this possible? What kind of screwdriver was it at 4:36?

handtoolrescue

Haha. I think I've heard this idea form someone before.

Planky

That intro was fantastic

Chuck Kirchner

That's gonna be useful when it's done!! Are you going to have Mustie1 restore the engine??

Goose Gosselin

That intro was worth the price of admission! Can't wait to see it fire up, the thing looks wicked.

handtoolrescue

I'm going to do the carburetor and muffler next. Then I'll do the powerhead and cut some people.

Clifton Ballad

What grit on the DA sander were you using? I have a love/hate thing with DA finishes. Sometimes they look awesome and sometimes I cant stand it. This was one of the awesome times. Also, your wire wheel scares the shit out of me LoL

Steve Shepherd

Your clear coat , was awesome, it really made me laugh :)

handtoolrescue

It's actually a rough scotchbrite disc and not sandpaper. They are awesome.

Marc McKenzie

My friend, you are so very talented! I loved the intro spoofing sitcoms from the late 70s! The tools you choose as projects are always interesting, and I not only am fully entertained by your videos, but as a tool restorer of humbler scope I learn something new every time. BTW, like others referenced - that had to be the heaviest duty perfect handled screwdriver I’ve ever seen! Do you know anything about it? Not out to get one, but curious! Well done! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Marc McKenzie

Wilmer, you’re right! He could do a three part series on the perfect screwdriver, and follow that up with a piece on a crescent wrench!

Felix

Wow the inside of that gearbox is just pristine

Felix

That belt sander just ate that stainless like it was butter.

handtoolrescue

Thank you! That's one of two sizes that H.S. Smith made. It's 3/4in at the blade!

Clifton Ballad

I Didn't know such things existed and now I cant live without one...

Marc McKenzie

Felix, thanks - I'm also a Patreon of AvE, but found his channel after that topic. When he says in the video "I talked to the tool restoration channel guy" was he talking about HTR, ScoutCrafter, or someone else? Since it involved low volume outsource manufacturing, I'm guessing HTR.

Al

Fuck you make great videos!

handtoolrescue

It was me. I showed him some photos of screwdrivers and he loved them.

8:15 looks like a cat

Stanislav G.

The screwdriver kindda looks like the one the crazy Swiss restored on his channel

Stanislav G.

Yeah, that kindda weirded me out :)

Wilmer Schock

Do you remember AvE had been considering a titanium screwdriver/mini pry par general tool, but that fell through? Even if HTR did one in stainless it would sell. I'm waiting for HTR to do a video restoration of my screwdriver which I sent him at last spring.
