Looks like a medieval weapon

That thing is pretty nifty! I could almost see some business buying that to sharpen their tools VS buying it to start a business... Also, for the record magnesium reacts with common vinegar pretty noticeably with lots of fun bubbles. I keep a bottle at work to sort out the random Mg castings from the normal Al and Zn that shows up. Also, the opening theme is still one of my favorite things ever and must remain part of HTR forever and ever. Cheers!

When I was a lad, this was the kind of tool my father would show me at work, leaving me alone to be fascinated. His method of safety was the unspoken promise that I didn’t even want to know what would happen if I messed with it (it was effective!). And of course even in their mid ‘80s, never, ever, ever tell my mother we did this. Ha ha!! What a fascinating, weirdly practical contraption. One wonders what the genesis of the original engineering and fabrication was? A beautiful job of a true restoration.

Great job!! That CNC control panel at 32:30 though, that thing looks amazing! I'm a sucker for the blinkenlights and the toggle switches and all. How old is that thing? Is there a model number?

....er, uh what? Can you type louder? 😜
