Excellent resto. It looks fantastic the way you left it... WELL DONE!!! 10/10

Spot on with the Danish Oil. Beautiful, yet industrial finish.

Also, you are going to need a bigger bucket of evaporust

Great Googily Moogily... I want! Also, on the collet repair weld, I would bet that is the end result of Oxy/acetylene with square rod and flux. It tends to look and act just like the original casting, much more so than the nickle rods which will always look shiny compared to the base metal. It would also fit the era of the clamp

I actually have a few solid cast iron welding rods that I have yet to use!

david batig

That is a big ass clamp.

Greg Steinmayer

Love your 'jaunty' little walk up the the clamp at the beginning!

Seriously, I want one to replace the piano in our parlor (great-grandmother’s, goes to my daughter’s who actually could play it), I’m visualizing having a stone base that straddles it, which would in turn hold a equal vintage looking pellet stove. I’m deadly serious.

If I bathe in Evaporust Lake, will it remove all the damage cancer left? I know, dark humor.

Marc McKenzie

I want to try this - thanks for the tip!

Very cool. Have you tried an image search using google lens? That might give you link to something to research.
