The Most Unnecessarily Complicated Antique Tape Dispenser [Restoration]

United States New subby here. I love this, it's even better than the unnecessarily complicated apple peeler. The right combination of springs, gears, levers and such can do wonders. As a retired mechanical engineer, I appreciate the job security inherent with being tasked to design and develop this. It must have kept a sizeable team gainfully employed for many years. Exactly the kind of assignment I sought back in my working days..

These days we have all these amazing devices, most made to last only a few years, just to be junked and replaced (But I still have my iPhone 6S). Those guys had a charter to design a tool that would outlive them. Good for them. I am posthumously professionally jealous. Or should it be professionally posthumously jealous? English is hard..
