So when can we expect a replica in the shop?

Will cline

The scale in this video is throwing me off. All seems normal then your hands come into frame.

Ben Gray

😂😂 it’s like watching a minarure person work on normal size tools!

Nicolas Danelon

Email me at handtoolrescue@gmail.com, we can track it down!

Erich Keane

Have you ever REALLY needed to bust a nut? Or lay some big-ole pipe? Thats what it is for.

Dalek Supreme

Is this from an oil rig? looks like some of those old school images from the silent movie era.

Ramroddestroyer1

Alright… anyone remember which video had eric walking to the blasting cabinet over and over again with some action music? For the life of me i cant remember which one it was and i got a damn good laugh from it

Brooks Moses

It explains the use right on it. 4 to 18 inch pipe! I did find a couple of U.S. Library of Congress photos that include what appears to be the next size down of one of these wrenches in use, circa 1939: https://www.loc.gov/item/2017739858/ and https://www.loc.gov/item/2017739859/ . With those are some photos that show what looks like an operation that would use wrenches of these size, though they ones they're using are somewhat mechanized: https://www.loc.gov/item/2017739854/ and https://www.loc.gov/item/2017739823/. With those I can give you a photo of people using them, too: https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/comments/gqb2ry/roughnecks_throwing_the_chain_on_an_oil_rig/ . Worth noting: Why, yes, those big wrenches _are_ held up by a hoist when they're being used.

Eric, I really think you need someone to develop a Hand Tool Rescue annual calendar. How could we miss the sensual spread with you laying with the pipe wrench (February, of course for Valentine’s Day), or for October you flying over your shop riding this same wrench like a broom (a la E.T..) Look out Playboy and Halmark!

Mr Fixall

We have a pair that size at work. When you need to bust loose an 8” or 10” threaded column on a vertical turbine they come in handy. Strap it to a stand, have one wrench braced on the ground to stop the pump from spinning and lift the end of other wrench with an overhead crane to get the threads loose. Apply heat to the joint as needed with a rosebud. Nice preservation job!

Thom Ellis

For the largest pipe you've ever seen, duh!

Matthew Turner

The teeth may have been cut by a shaper. See Abom79's channel for a bunch of great examples of shaper use.

Adam Dolch

You might want to hang that on a wall somewhere in your shop with the chain in an interesting configuration. what an amazing tool!
