Literally the title.

Technically if you own a copy of a game, it is legal to create a Rom copy on your PC and use an emulator. In this case, I wouldn't need the emulation but so long as I bought a physical copy for say the PS4 it would be legal to torrent a PC copy as my "Back Up" copy.

I've checked the laws and yes in fact this is legal when it comes to video games oddly enough.

So thoughts?

Drinking_Buddy

The reason I say do it, is because of the fresh release. People who aren't buying the game because of what EPIC is doing, still want to see the game played to get a feel of what they are getting. They will do this by watching streamers. If you are one of the streamers, it is more likely more new people will come watch the stream. If you wait out till the game goes to Steam, many people will have moved on and are less likely to check on a game from last year.

Full agreement with Drinking Buddy, but expect issue to arise from using ROMs.

Fiaura The Tank Girl

So long as I own my physical copy I am simply playing my digital archive copy that I am legally allowed to have.
