Should I research the Effect of Furry Artists Upon the Economy? (Patreon)

Someone asked me a question and I stopped in my tracks.

How much of an impact do Furry Artists have on the economy?

I paused... I have seen a lot of these memes about suspiciously wealthy furries and bronies as well as other content that makes me stare in aware, such as the fact that often with far fewer followers, porn artists have double or ten times my patreon on tribution.

Now I'm curious and it is a question that won't leave my head.

Should I actually research, How Much of an Impact do Furry Artists have on the economy?

This looks like a 10-12 week project with nice estimate being 4 weeks but we all know how research goes and the nice estimate is bollocks so, do I want to commit all my major efforts outside of writing and streaming to this?
