Good morning darling!

Happy Pride Month!

Today I ramble on a little bit about some of my personal history with the LGBTQIA+ community and how I came about being as open as I am.

I am very lucky in how I was brought up, and the parents that I have. I never had to "come out" and just sort of always shared how I felt about others without feeling worried about what my family may think. I have gone though my own things in life, but I am grateful for my base and my support in this world.

I am pansexual, and having been raised in such an open and loving way, has been what has led me to being able to do the work I do...which I love. So here are a few little stories I will share about my Pride.

~Emotional Warning~

I get a little tiny emotional, and the topic may slam some hard depending on their journey, so if you're not up for feeling teary eyed about it, or if you're feeling a bit of a way right now, it may make you cry...just to let you know.

I am so happy I get to do what I get to do, and be who I am, and (most) of my family is amazingly supportive...well the ones that matter are 🤭💖

I'm sending out so much love to everyone who needs it today. Thank you for being here, and allowing me to be creative and safe.

Much love darling,

-Smutty 🥰🩷💛🩵

Ma’am. That’s awesome. Unfortunately, I grew up in the area that was not tolerant of anything… To include being an African-American. But thanks to a career in the United States, Air Force, and being able to travel for many years and see different things I was able to reverse that old thought process and learn to embrace everybody and understand that our differences are what make us strong. Happy Pride month and may our world continue to keep learning and growing, and being even more understanding

Thank your parents frequently for ‘doing it right’

Great comment Erik. After having served a career in the Air Force, i was so thrilled and proud when we went to a University of Kentucky football game and a lieutenant who had been in ROTC with my son and had already graduated and was there in uniform introduced his husband. It just flowed out easily without any self consciousness or awkwardness. A far cry from the years I was in during the "Don't ask, Don't tell" era. Sadly things have gotten worse recently, but I hope the upcoming elections will allow us to reverse that trend.

I’m so glad you had support on your journey. 🩷💛 🩵 Going against the norm is hard no matter how lucky you are, but having someone to keep telling you you’re not broken and not alone keeps it feeling possible that tomorrow will be a little easier. I was born and raised in Arkansas, and I’m now in one of the more progressive areas of the state but going against the southern baptist way still gets you looked at like you’re offering hitchhikers a ride to hell. I’m thankful everyday for my sister. She was always right beside me, even when I came out to my parents and they didnt take it as well. Without her I might’ve just chickened out and hid it forever. (This is already too long bUT) growing up where and how I did is part of why your content and similar creators mean a lot to me. You make a space that feels safe to just be me, whatever that may be. It makes it feel safe to escape all the hate and uncertainty for a little while, and follow the direction of someone who won’t judge. Thank you for doing that, and for putting so much love into all of it 💜 Extra Happy Pride, all!! 🩷💜💙 🩷💛🩵 ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

I grew up an Army Brat! My dad was raised in an area, and he talks about growing up with segregation, and the ways in which he was actively anti-racist has always floored me as I've gotten older and learned. I've witnessed him change his mind on things when given new information, and he has definitely helped form my world. It's important to recognize these things, and the flaws of the past, and we can continue to improve all the time. 💖🥰
