This is long for a Psych episode as most episodes are around the same length as The Mentalist episodes. It's not quite a double episode, but close enough to the length of a double episode

For some reason, I don't remember this pilot at all, it was way long. But this definitely used to be one of my comfort shows.

This was my middle daughter's favorite show when she was a pre-teen and teenager. We spent many hours on the couch with popcorn, laughing at Shawn and Gus!! It was our show. No one else in the house watched with us, so it was special mother and daughter time. So many good memories connected to this!! That daughter is now 29 and has 2 kids of her own 🥰

Psych is up there with Once Upon a Time, The Good Place, and The Rookie as one of my favorite comfort shows. Constant rewatch. The pilot does a lot of heavy lifting to set up the premise and the characters but trust me, you learn more about the characters and their personalities as they progress and are involved in more cases.

As others have already said, typical episodes are shorter. Usually in the 45 minute range or so. It is fairly typical for pilots to run a little longer. Walking Dead was the same.

I love this show and it's been so long since I've seen it. Hopefully someone sponsors Monk in the future! And yes, as others have said, each episode has a hidden pineapple if you want to play along. The commercials would advertise it but since there aren't any with streaming, you wouldn't know about it

I like this show, and a lot of it makes me laugh, but I have to say, I do NOT remember this pilot episode. It's been a while since I've seen this show, but I must not rewatch the pilot as often as other episodes. It was definitely longer than I remember as well!

haha bloodthirsty.... That's what we call my Indian reservation... Each reservation in my area has a different color associated for them. I believe it started when we would play ball/hand games against each other. Also, my last name means blood in my tribe's language, so seeing bloodthirsty made me giggle... lol
