idk if you mentioned this in another post or not, but do you recognize Reverse Flash?? He's Billy Chambers from Scandal, basically the big bad of season 1. and he was in an episode of Criminal Minds in season 1. he played the unsub

You kinda just gotta nod & smile at the pseudo science in the show. Trust me, it gets whackier lol don’t even try to make it make sense, it won’t 😂

So let me try to explain without spoiling anything: So as you know the Reverse Flash traveled back in time, killed Barry's mom and posed as Harrison Wells so that he could return home to the future. While that Reverse Flash got erased when Eddie sacrificed himself, this one has not yet hatched his plan. So the original Reverse Flash did the same thing, accidentally traveled back in time to this point, which is where he learned about Barry and his mom, Harrison Wells, etc. But that point in Reverse Flash's life didn't happen until THIS moment........does that make sense😭 Listen im ngl it gets REALLY confusing but it all makes sense.......in a way....just try not to think about it too much😭

I'm more with patty here only because part of the reason she was leaving to begin with besides the job was knowing Barry wasn't being fully honest with her and hiding something and she didn't care before but started to because she wanted them to take the next step and he wouldn't be honest. But I get barry not wanting anybody else to be in danger either.

I put this on Discord too. But yeah, The Reverse Flash thing is very hard to understand but I'll explain it in detail as well as I can: Eobard was born in the future, he grew up hating The Flash and having an epic rivalry with him. To try and defeat The Flash for good Eobard travelled to the past, to when Barry was a child, and killed his mom because he thought that trauma would break Barry so much that he'd never become The Flash. But Eobard lost his connection to the speed force by going back in time and doing something evil and so to get his speed back he had to build the particle accelerator and make Barry The Flash so he could use The Flash's speed to get home to the future again and to get his speed back. But when Eddie, Eobard's ancestor, shot himself that erased Eobard from existence in the present day. But that takes time to reach the future and so the Eobard we saw in this episode was having his first trip to Barry's past to figure out what time he's from so he knows exactly where to go to kill Barry's mom, this episode had already happened from Eobard's point of view when we'd first met him in season 1. He hasn't been erased yet because he's travelled through time back to a time where the future version of himself has already been erased. It's like a time loop situation almost, he shouldn't exist but he does because doesn't. Hence them calling him a time remnant. It's very complicated and it took me a long time to get my head around, but growing up reading the comics helped. 😂😂

I really liked Patty's character, shame she left the show tbh. And i don't think it was the fact that he was the Flash that she wanted to stay, i think it was more the fact that, THAT was the secret or the reason he was withholding from her (she likely assumed he wasn't interested or was stringing her along etc, it also explained all the random disappearances he had, or injuries etc, like i think it was more that she realised that he had a good reason for his actions (in my opinion at least)
