Honestly I think it hurts the most knowing that he walked out of the fire. That he seems like he was about to be fine, even though we know that he ends up dying, that he is up talking and seems fine, that all it takes is Rebecca going to the vending machine and he’s gone. You get gaslit for a second thinking that the fire isn’t his cause of death just to be like.. SIKE. Just not in the way you think. 💔 The chaos going on in the background while she’s on the phone, the code blue.. kills me everytime

As someone who lost their mom unexpectedly.. that lil Randall monologue 💔💔 The conversation that you didn’t know would be your last, how you went in for one thing an it ended up leading to that, having to tell your sibling the news because she needed to hear it from me… God it hurts

Mandy Moore didnt know that Milo would be lying on the bed and we would see dead jack like. She just walked inthere expecting a empty room. 💔 have seen the show multiple times, but this episode kills me everytime. Cant imagine how hard shooting this must have been. They knew how important and hurtful this episode is for the show.

Sterling and the actor who played teenag randall both lost their father as kids/Teens. While i imagine some scenes/lines must have been pretty hard for them, they also said that it was kinda healing to have them go through it like rhat. You can really Tell that every actor on this show is in it with their whole heart

As much as it hurts, you got to the point that has been in a way “teased” since the beginning, the HOW he dies. But you got past the how and the fire, which you knew was gonna be one of the most painful parts, seeing it. But you got there!

As a huge Grey’s fan it kills me that they call TOD so quickly bc you know if he was at Grey Sloan they’d be running code on him for 3 hours saying “WE NEED TO SAVE THIS MAN, HE SACRIFICED HIS LIFE FOR HIS DAUGHTER’S HAPPINESS”

I won’t say you won’t cry at any other episodes, but this one and the last one are the two hardest IMO, at least for this season. I hope you continue to do 2 a week even though I’d love to have you just binge the rest of the series 😂

I love that we finally get a glimpse into the future timeline! I totally agree that this show feels so real, it doesn’t feel like they are acting at all which makes it feel so personal & why I love it so much! I will say I think this ep & the last ep were two of the hardest to watch this season because his death and the how has been so built up until this point & now we finally know what happened. I can’t wait for the rest of the season🫶🏽

oh I remember how BIG this episode was. It aired right after the super bowl (because duh) and it’s been like this huge event bc we finally learn how Jack died. And even though it was as heroic as we expected, I was floored by Mandy Moore‘s performance the most. I still don’t know how Rebecca survived this bc it shattered her entire life. And you can clearly see how in this is us there is a before Jack and an after Jack. it affected them all so so much, it changed their whole lives.

Fuckkkkk I will never forget watching this for the first time. Like holy shit this show is just incredible, it makes me feel so many things. And it’s crazy, cause obviously Jack dying is just the saddest thing ever and like horrifying to watch, but also without it the whole show doesn’t exist. So it’s like crazy watching it and being so sad but also loving the story and the characters so much. Damn this show really changed my life The way they incorporate flashbacks in this show is something fuckign special omfg The twist at the end with older Randall is just IMPECCABLE. Ugh I cannot WAIT for you to see how the show progresses, when I first watched it I thought how could they possibly find so many more stories to tell now that we know how Jack died but dear lord this show just never falters.

This episode BROKE ME. My dad was very my version of Jack. My mom is my Rebecca. My dad passed suddenly of a heart attack right after I graduated college and rewatching this was like reliving all of the emotions, the loss. But the writers did a beautiful job at giving us joy by taking a glimpse into the future
