Monica

I’ve been waiting for this to drop! I’m sat 🤩

Beck Huston

My husband is a Kipper for Christopher. His baby sister couldn't say it right. His mom and grand parents called him that forever

Chance Lee

This is my favorite episode of the series and I know I’m wrong for that

Jordan McAth

I love how everyone sees Kips body and has the same "how the fuck does he look like that" reaction 🤣🤣 same as absolutely loving Scott haha they are both such gorgeous men 😍😍

Clay W

I don't think you're wrong for that. I love this episode and I'll defend it against the folks who say it's boring or unnecessary.

Clay W

I love this episode so much. I'll be honest, I got on the Skip ship so fast while I'm still on the fence about Shane and Ilya. I guess despite how it ends, Scott is openly communicating with Kip. His fears of their relationship being exposed are more of an issue than anything, but I can see both sides of how they feel.

Clay W

So did I, Travis, but a lot of people don't like it which I don't get.

scarr

Yeah I mean Scott and Kip are objectively adorable. And even though it’s been alluded to here that some fans of the show were not happy about this ep and the full pivot away from our main characters, I’ll say that EVERY reactor I’ve seen has loved it and been pretty open about enjoying this couple more at this point. Which I think makes a lot of sense- like you said Travis their relationship is shown to be VERY different than what we’ve been seeing with Ilya and Shane. I think that’s the point, and I love showing that contrast. I think you’re right that the age difference probably plays a significant part of Scott being much more self aware and able to communicate- despite still being in the closet. Obviously all 3- Scott, Shane and Ilya have the hockey culture playing into their perspectives and behavior but Ilya being from Russia I think also is an important element in his identity and their relationship. I know what you mean about Kip’s friend telling Scott that Kip was miserable seeming a bit questionable from our perspective- but I think they were trying to cover a lot of story ground in this one ep of the relationship forming and being meaningful and also the challenge that we ended off with. So the little moments of Kip interacting with his Dad and lying about where he was, lying to his friends, were meant to be our hints. And then his friend who clearly knows him very well, being the one to alert Scott and us to something that we weren’t fully seeing but was nonetheless true. It’s a tough situation for sure and I have empathy for Kip and Scott. PS I never see anyone name this but Scott is definitely Sebastian Raine from the one Schitt’s Creek episode- David’s former photographer bf 😅

Jodycnd

Yes, I saw someone comment that they didn’t know why it is said that this show had no budget as they were able to afford THE Sebastian Raine, lol

scarr

I don’t think it’s necessary to say the reasons why the showrunner included Scott & Kip’s story. Would be better to let Travis understand that through the course of the show.

scarr

Please be careful with adding context from the books since you know the whole story and the point of watching a reactor is that they do not and are learning it as it unfolds through the episodes.

Kiana Banks

This episode alone felt like a short film… it was sooo good they are definitely the hotter couple for me so far.

clémence

I think it's really cool to see a different storyline in this series, because even though they really are different (for multiple reasons, as you already said, and probably will keep finding out), they also help understand the whole context of hockey culture and how it might impact gay players/relationships. François Arnaud (Scott) is really good looking. He is from Québéc and hearing him speak French with a Quebéc accent is the cutest thing ever.

Mary Cortez

You've seen François Arnaud previously on Schitt's Creek, Unreal and Yellowjackets. I love that we are getting different romance stories from a book series and the adaptation from book to screen varies Bridgerton and Heated Rivalry being my main examples, I love that sometimes the stories intertwine and the adaptation has to adjust in Bridgerton they decided to give each sibling their own season but that was a huge production with both Shondaland and Netflix backing it up but HR had different circumstances with a small budget and as far as they knew they would only have 1 season but the show runner did plant seeds by mentioning upcoming characters for next seasons, all the love stories are different with their own dynamics and if they follow the books character descriptions with different body types and at least 2 love interests with over 12% body fat, each of the romances are different because their situation's are different, age, family career etc and that's what I love about romance because we get to see different types of love stories with a common thread in this case the series is gay hockey but their are many variations of falling in love

We shall 💜 Kip is a cutie Extra 🍌

Jade Coulthurst

I completely understand people being more for Scott/Kip than Shane/Ilya at this point. It may even stay that way for you. Anyone judging for that just doesn't make sense. We all view things differently and have our own opinions. I think you're so right with Scott and Kip

Jade Coulthurst

's ages - being older they want something more serious and emotional at this point rather than just the physical. Like you said, we see that Shane and Ilya care about each other a lot, but the distance, age, hockey and their lack of deep communication is holding them back right now. Not to say I don't love them. I'm one who appreciates both relationships and how they differ from the other, but I am completely on board that if you were going to guess which relationship was more likely to work out at this point, it would be Kip and Scott. I look forward to the next episodes - probably the best 3 in my opinion. And holy hell, where did they find all these gorgeous men? I mean all 4 main men are just something else. Personally, Ilya is my fave I think (love some curly hair), but they are all so handsome. Great episode and reaction.

Simone

OH THANK GOD YOU FELL IN LOVE WITH SCOTT AND KIP TOO! I was legit worried because, well, the ship got hate for taking screentime from our other guys. But to me, expanding a universe is rarely ever a bad thing, and luckily these two are so fucking cute, and I personally resonate with them more than Shane and Ilya. Sorry, but Scott is just my man. Like yes he is annoyingly gorgeous, but also just kind and idk, I just wanna protect him.

tjamaicapogue

Yaasss - the actor that plays Scott is Francois Arnaud and he's the one that said that this show couldn't have been made in America. I've been a big fan of his since The Borgias (which is an AMAZING show) back in 2011. So glad he's getting all the love that he deserves. I also understand why this episode sticks out at this point - the emotional maturity and diving into relationship dynamics that go beyond the physical really brings you into the story and helps make the characters feel more real and not one dimensional.

thisismaria27

I think this episode shows the audience that this world is much bigger than Shane and Ilya. And also that there can be many gay athletes out there, Shane and Ilya are not alone in having to hide their true identity.

Kate

Kit is the more common nickname for Christopher but I’ve heard Kip before too. I love how this episode shows a different side to this world - Scott is older than Shane and Ilya, a little wiser, more emotionally available. And Kip is fully out with a supportive parent and friend circle. But despite Scott’s desire for someone to share his life, he is still held back by what will happen if he comes out, and it’s heartbreaking. Although I personally prefer the complexities of Shane and Ilya and find the slow burn more interesting, I love Scott and Kip too. And I really love the world-building of this show!! It’s cool to see so many different stories.

ANGELA

I have never seen you so quiet for soooo long!!! Fantastic reaction! I am watching along with you for the first time. It's getting harder to not go binge the rest of the shows. This episode was like a short film. It was exciting, beautiful and heartbreaking. Agree with all your comments/thoughts!! Loved it.

love4Cook

I love that you had the exact same reaction to Scott Hunter that I did. I was like he’s f’ing GORGEOUS AND SMOKING HOT! I really loved this episode and the relationship between Kip and Scott. They were adorable together. The ending made me sad, but I do understand it. Then I get really angry that we live in a world that makes people afraid to be who they really are and love who they want to love.

Ari

I was literally about to type basically the same thing lol glad we agree :)
