Oh it’s been CLEAR that dude in the waiting room was an absolute trash human from everything he’s said and done across each episode. Can’t say him punching that nurse was something I saw coming but yeah. I did not have even an ounce of sympathy for him in his temper tantrum about having to wait at a fucking ER- taking that shit personal cause he believes he’s more entitled to care than anyone else. Seriously fuck that guy. And that’s BEFORE he took it to this level of assault.

Anna Hunt

I remember the week this episode aired, there had been some major event of violence against a nurse in the news. Whole lot of anger in the community at the time, especially about the way the hospital handled it. Violence against healthcare workers is a real problem. Yeah, I get being frustrated, but I have no sympathy for this guy

Sherry Palmer

I know that actor from another show where he was a giant teddy bear, so it's weird seeing him play this jerk. But, yeah, he's doing a good job of playing someone punchable!

Went to school with a guy all through the 90s who we called Ponch because he looked like an Estrada mini me. 😄

A number of the doctors that I watched reacting to the show said that unfortunately they do often have to put victim and perpetrators next to each other in the ER.

I'm not positive but maybe it's because many people can make a place their home even if it doesn't mean having an actual shelter / house?

PumpkinSparks

I believe there are several reasons to use unhoused instead of homeless. One is that homeless has such a negative connotation that it unconciously dehumanizes them in the mind of others. And then the word also shifts the focus on where the problem really lies. Just because you don't have a house does not mean you don't have a home, and it points more towards the failure of the system rather than the "failure" of the individual. There are several other examples of newer terms that subtly shift the understanding and humanize them - a very obvious one would be to say sex worker instead of prostitute.

as a person from Philly, im offended by Dana's comment...........bcuz its true😭

As the daughter of a CHARGE nurse and sister to a nicu nurse. Trust me Travis you don’t wanna hear what I have to say. Nurses are the backbone of our society.

I was about as fired up as you were about that patient that hit Dana. He was such a jerk throughout the show. My son is currently in nursing school so it hits extremely close to home to see that.
