And that is how you update Shakespeare right!! They even kept the sisters names from "Taming of the Shrew" and named the HS Padua. And Patrick's last name as Verona. I have always loved this movie! Never a bad time to watch it.

This movie has no business being this good! It should just be a silly teen romantic comedy, and it is, yet it's so much more. The sum of its parts is much greater than the individual little things in the movie. It's funny, sharp, and surprisingly deep for a teen movie. Definitely one of my comfort movies that still holds up, which is more than I can say for most teen movies from this era. Still, it's so messed up what pretty much everyone did to Kat in the movie (especially her own sister)! But, it is movie logic, so we can let it slide a bit lol. Heath Ledger is just as smooth as butter in this movie, and I can see why Kat would fall for him. My favorite part of the movie is the side characters like Kat and Bianca's dad and Mr. Morgan. They crack me up so much every time I watch this movie 😂😂😂 Mr. Morgan could definitely lighten up with Kat though lol

"What's normal? Those damn Dawson's River kids sleeping in each other's beds and whatnot?" HILARIOUS nod to Dawson's Creek show that I never caught the first few times watching this movie. Loved this movie growing up, it's so good. Andrew Keegan was the butthole Joey, and he was a 90's heartthrob (so they called it back then) I never found him to be attractive, but to each their own. lol I was always more for Joshua Jackson and Jonathan Taylor Thomas when I was a teen.

So the school is called stadium high school. I went to school there my freshman year of highschool. It's in Tacoma Washington. It's massive!

Ugh the nostalgia. That little hair tuck just before kissing her move was a big deal to me back in the day
