Yeah I’m really liking this a lot. Only the director makes me suuuuper nervous and uncomfortable 😬 👀 I was waiting to see if we were gunna get Karen done up as Marilyn and yeah she did look great. I loved that number but she does seem very…green which clearly was the point. It felt a little like dancing with the stars to me with her in there 🥴 I too am curious to see what they do from here with Ivy getting the part. I really like Ivy but she makes me feel kinda sad. The fact that that skeeze ball director said there was like a wound or sadness or whatever he said after sleeping with her made me sick. Physically ill. Absolutely hate that guy. My skin crawls whenever he’s alone with one of the girls.

It's only the second episode and I'm getting teary eyed! 🥲 When Karen was alone and everybody was walking past her until Julia talked to her & Julia's letter... I'm sobbing 😭😭😭

Ivy is objectively better than Karen. There is actually zero vocal comparison here. That's why i love this show so much. They REALLY want you to root for Karen but almost any fan of broadway is like "No. I will not. Not for this."

The thing with Karen is she's great...but NOT FOR THIS and there is absolutely no universe in which it would even be a QUESTION.

So, with Ivy, I feel like when she's not belting, the quality of her voice dips just a bit, whereas, with Karen, the quality of her voice soars when she's not belting. Karen's voice is more emotionally resonant with me, while Ivy has the bigger voice and better overall performance. But still, for Broadway, Ivy is definitely better due to those reasons, especially since she's physically more emotive than Karen, which definitely has some to do with the differences in their experience levels, and some to do with their natural inclinations.

Yesssss so much this. Ivy was built for Broadway. Karen was built to be like a Wedding Singer and pop girly. They both have gorgeous voices but for this role, ivy blows Karen out of the water. I think Karen would be good in a more experimental Broadway show like when they did American Idiot as a stage show rather than classic Broadway.
