Was waiting on this one! My favorite ep of the season for sure, such a creative use of time and Liliya's character

To clear it up for you, it was just a way to pay-off Liliya's character thus far, in my interpretation. All of her weird, kookiness in the previous episodes was her jumping around time in this episode, kind of retroactively explaining what her power really is. It's magic, so it's hard to really nail down what all of these witches can do, but with Liliya, her entire life flashed before her eyes as a kid, including the death of her village and mentor that she feels she could've prevented. As she got closer to her death, she finally began to understand her purpose, as she’s found a coven, and can help them pass her trail and survive the road with the Salem 7 gone now.

I love this episode so much! For one, once Liliya entered the scene we see everything happening from her perspective - usually we are just as confused as the other characters what she is saying, but now we experience her timeline and it all makes sense (also we understand her confusion now since we experience it with her) We also now get the context for everytime in the show "Liliya is being weird again" including the random tarot card shout outs (which was something that confused the heck out of me the first time up until this point. Why is she randomly shouting out tarot cards?) Jales already explained her powers. But I also want to point out a fan theory: She did mention that most of her life she didn't have those time jumps, just at her beginning and now they started up again. The implication is that she let her powers wilt and didn't practice real magic in order to have a somewhat normal life. There is a theory though (I personally really like that one), that these time jumps happen at the beginning and the end of her life. So she might live in a continual loop of time, so she never really dies because time is an illusion - and as she said "I fell. No, I will fall", both are true.

Also, it's just a scentence, but it's so powerful: Teen asking the Tarot if he is Billy or William? That one question is so loaded and really encapsulates all of his inner turmoil. And Joe is such a great actor, I really see in his performance an unsure teenager who puts on a mask of confidence. And yes Joe, you do have the cheekbones, you slay that fit!

man i'm so jealous you got the death reveal without already knowing. funko actually spoiled her reveal AND teen's reveal (although most of us knew who billy was anyway). so fun. this is the best episode of the season by far

i loved going back and reading reddit or other people's reactions to this episode (and previous episodes) when it first came out. I honestly didn't understand this episode at first either, until the people explained it to me (on tiktok of course haha)
