Rachel has always been about doing what she wants on her merits. When she got Louis to agree to those terms, she earned those merits as a lawyer. Then doing so again with Jessica. Her dad could easily pay for law school with a flick of the wrist. She doesn't want it given to her. She wants it earned. With Jessica and them she earned her school to be paid by by her hard work while in school. Plus her dad would want her to work for him obviously. She gets to do it on her own two feet.
