Monica and Chandler really are the best. As for Emily, I'm glad you were on her side. A lot of people get REALLY angry about her asking Ross not to see Rachel anymore but I think that's a very valid thing for her to do. That's Ross' ex girlfriend, he said her name at the alter of their wedding and he was going to go on their honeymoon with her. Of course Ross has to cut out Rachel if he wants to make things work with Emily. 🤷

When I saw this episode when it aired (as a child!), I thought Emily was so unreasonable. Now? She was completely in the right, and reacted very tamely to this nonsense! I was so glad to see you on her side. Friends is told from the perspective of the friends, but Ross was 100% in the wrong here. Their marriage was doomed and far too rushed, but Emily wasn't a monster. This is the beauty of watching these shows now, with hindsight. The tropes 90s audiences bought into are ridiculous in 2026!
