This is the one I've been waiting for! Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes is a great film, but Dawn is even better. The stop motion is incredible, Koba is a fantastic villain. I'll be honest too, I have always preferred Caeser's relationship with Malcolm a lot more then with Will. For me that was a weak point about the first film, I just didn't feel their connection as much. I thought he had a stronger bond with his dad. I do really like the human characters as well, aside from the ones you're supposed to hate, like Carver. I loved how you think it's going to be him that messes everything up, but he actually doesn't. He did have a hand it by hiding that gun but in the end it was still Koba, even framing him. His role is small in this but Gary Oldman absolutely kills every scene he's in. Not one word was said but you could feel everything he was while looking at the tablet, I always felt it during his big speech earlier in the film too. It also made perfect sense why he wouldn't believe him after everything that happened. All he saw destruction and didn't get to know Caeser and the other good apes, he thought Malcolm was crazy which was valid. I can't leave out Andy Serkis, he also crushed it. I'm not sure who played Blue Eyes but he too was very good, he barely spoke but said so much with his eyes. It was also so tragic how Ash died, not only was he Blue Eyes best friend but he was just a teenage and it was a brutal way to go. It really showed how ruthless Koba had become. And if you didn't realize Ash was Rocket's son and if you don't remember Rocket he was the original leader until Caeser while they were locked up and Rocket has been loyal to him ever since. We have also seen Caeser's wife too in Rise, she was in it for just a moment. It was during the scene when the two guys brought the girls in. I really hope you get to War soon because I love that one.
