I agree that the scene where Don tells the captain about Ben Laden is one of the best scene of this show, especially because Don is so unlikable and he recognizes this as a moment bigger/more important than himself. I've watched this episode 5 or 6 times probably and I get teary eyed every time at that point. I also think what Charlie said about how reporting too early can endanger people. We live in a world of immediacy and it's a good reminder that it's not always a good thing. Loved your reaction!

I was 4 months pregnant with my daughter on 9/11 and had family working in NYC. It was hours after the second plane before any of them were able to get through on the phone to let me know they were all OK. Cell towers were so overloaded. This moment, when the announcement was made that we had killed Bin Laden ..... there are just no words for it. I knew before the broadcast because of my dad's security clearance (his body language told me, even though he couldn't say anything about it) and involvement with the simulators that the SEALS and other military use to plan missions. I don't think I fully believed it until the President announced it. This episode was incredible!

I was moving out of my parents house on 9/11. Still a kid leaving home and venturing on out on my own and my mom was glued to the TV. I didn't even know until I was nearly done. My mom stopped me and asked if I had seen the news. I was floored. Leaving felt so much scarier.
