Channing Tatum has said Gambit is his favorite character and has been asking to play him for years, so when they started looking for the cameos for the Void....he got his chance. My favorite cameo is Wesley Snipes. Blade has always been my guy. Love those movies!

Channing Tatum wasn't in any of those movies. He had been waiting for most of his life to play Gambit...and they were going to do it but it fell through. So when they made this movie, most of the jokes around Channing Tatum and Gambit relate to that. For example when he said he might have been born in the void (instead of being sent there)..and Deadpool said to him (after Gambit tells him people call him the gambit) that "are you sure you just didn't really want them to but it never quite worked out?"

I remember watching the X-Men cartoons in the 90s, and I was so in love with Gambit ❤️

Great reaction, Travis. The story about Channing Tatum was that he was supposed to play Gambit in the 2009 film X-Men Origins, but it didn't work out. He was even supposed to get a chance to have a solo Gambit film, but that also fell through. So, Channing had been waiting 15 years to play the role. Also as far as there only being one Blade, there was supposed to be a reboot with Mahershala Ali playing Blade, but the studio kept screwing around with the production until they just shut it down so for now, Wesley Snipes is still the only Blade. Yes, that is the same actress from Logan, Dafne Keen. It's crazy that 7 years had passed and now she's in her 20's.
