I know it's a bit late, but would you guys want to be in a discord server?

Comments

D

I definitely would.

Lee Doe

I don't see a reason why not, though I am what feels like a million servers 😅

Anon

Meh. Big creators’ Discord servers can feel like overbearing fan clubs and smaller ones can be pretty dead outside of regulars who are just talking amongst themselves at that point. Idrk how content creators really benefit from them

tudos4

I say yes, but only if it has some structure. A creator Discord can be useful if it has clear channels, maybe forum-style topics, announcements, and optional casual chat. Otherwise I get the concern that it can turn into either a fan-club echo chamber or a few regulars talking while everyone else just lurks.

I do get it, I've experienced it myself in other creator's servers. I think personally my main goal would be to interact with people more and maybe do free art giveaways

tudos4

Yeah, for your kind of Patreon I think it makes sense. Since it’s mainly manga/art, a Discord could work well for WIPs, questions, casual art talk, announcements, and giveaway info. I’d just keep it structured enough that it doesn’t turn into a noisy general chat or a tiny regulars-only room.

Nadav

Yes and in support of a clearly structured server aimed first at creator-to-fan interaction. Limited general category, larger creator category, limited categories for things the creator likes and so would the members. And mostly, not trying to anticipate member needs and overloading with channels from the get go.

TheRealVeethoven

Definitely! It's good to have the access to communicating with other ppl in community on top of being able to communicate with artist.

Sure I’ll join BUT only if! There’s lore drops on certain characters

Greatsword

I still want a server but I second this
