With the heavy emphasis on people getting married and having as many children as possible, what are the cycling cities thoughts on same sex relationships?

How has Tala managed to hide that she is Hallowed for... however long it's been? She's screwed up in front of people a few times, plus I got the impression that basically every other Hallowed or Sovereign (and maybe GodBeast?) nearby had some kind of opportunity to object, so they would know too.

In broad outlines, what are the ratios for progression in the Cycling Cities. Rane made the point that they're in higher circles now, so it would be skewed, but even a regular mage seemed rare enough that people would be surprised to see one in the early books. Now Tala has a way to create Reforged-level power, if hyper-limited, in less time than the Academy trains magelings, if I understand correctly.
